Reopening NT Oriental Emporium

The Lay Family would like to proudly announce the official re-opening of the NT Oriental Emporium at 305 Bagot Rd, Coconut Grove NT 0810. The new facility boasts 1200sqm of retail floor space and office amenities.

Built by the local company Sunbuild and using all local contractors the Lay family have re-invented the Darwin institution that has been in operation since 1988. Devastated by a fire in October of 2020 and temporarily relocated to 269 Bagot Rd, the Emporium has finally gone full circle and moved back into the new store and will begin trading immediately.

The new store now includes a fully licensed bottle shop, butcher serving fresh seafood and meat and the Sari Rasa Café – serving lunch and breakfast. The NT Oriental Emporium has been the leading retailer for Asian groceries in the Top End for over 45 years and are very excited to bring you this new offering.

The public have been fantastic and very patient throughout the last two years, and we would like to send a special thank you to our wonderful clientele that has kept us going and thriving at our lowest point. This opening is for them and the family hope that we can once again deliver the great service you have come to
expect.

Since its inception, the NT Oriental Emporium has prided itself on delivering to its customers the best available Asian grocery lines at the best possible price. Their commitment to range and quality will have you wondering and experimenting with spices and sauces to invigorate the soul. The Oriental Emporium is truly the NT’s own gateway to Asia. Come in and see for yourself!
